Baby Steps

Grace actually started and finished a jar of baby food today! What that means is, we opened a new jar this morning, and over the course of the three oral feeds we do with her each day, she was able to eat the entire thing..., in a single day. To put it into perspective for those of you unfamiliar with my daughter's situation, two months ago, before we took her to a team of feeding specialists in New Jersey, she wasn't eating anything by mouth. Nothing. Slowing, strictly following the protocol set in place by the feeding team, she started eating very tiny amounts of baby food. A single jar of baby food would last her an entire week, but at least something was going in through her mouth. We were just excited at the fact that we actually had to buy baby food again. As of a week ago, she was eating about a tablespoon at each feed (we do 3 feeds a day, 10 minutes each). Today, two and a half months after our first visit, she ate a whole jar. That's a huge deal for her and for us.
